Happy Easter...last week :)

I'm playing catch up...which brings us to last week, Easter! Here are a few pics of us dying eggs with our neighbors, Sara & Nate Fuller. They are practically family. We usually spend our weekends hangin out with them and the Morbys (featured in the previous post).

Sorry I've been slacking on blog posting lately. Sara called me out on not posting our Spring Break pictures so here they are! Hoo-rah!

Here we are waiting for the Bellagio fountains to start...yeah come to find out they only turn them on at night! Lame! We were all bummed out because that was one of the only things we wanted to see in Vegas. So we just flicked pennies at the ducks in the water instead. That was entertaining.

I asked Trey what he thought of Vegas and this was his reaction.

We did go to the M&M factory, that was probably the highlight of our Vegas stop. Oh wait, I take that back, Cici's Pizza was definitely my favorite part of Vegas...that and the drive through wedding chapel we saw. <3

I forgot to take a pic of us at CiCi's, it is the most amazing pizza buffet ever! And it was only 5 bucks! We stuffed ourselves silly. My favorite part was the cinnamon rolls hands down! We love you CiCi's. We'll be back soon.

Ah, here we are at our final destination...Indio, California. The resort was amazering, lots of palms and I even got the "hot grandma" in this pic. We called her that because she was sporting a bikini every time we saw her. You go girl!

These windmills are awesome. They are everywhere down in the desert of CA. I like this picture of me pretending to be a windmill and Trey holding up a stick.

That is the Brahma...isn't she gorgeous? She reminded me of my family's old Club Wagon, only this one was in mint condition! She treated us well, no problems at all.

We went over to Palm Springs for an evening on the town and we found this awesome little area called The Village where they have all these fun stores you can check out. We went into this movie store and I found a Chewbacca back pack!!! It was awesome, I'm just sad you can't see his face in this pic. It looks like Chewy is nibbling my ear!

We happened upon this awesome Mexican restaurant where you could eat outside. Mariposa is Spanish for butterfly, just FYI. I must admit, even though I usually don't enjoy Mexican food very much, this place was great! Their food & service was superbolicious.

I'm kind of sad Trey & I missed out on the farting lady experience after dinner. My tummy wasn't agreeing with the fried ice cream we had for dessert so we rushed off to the bathroom. It sounded hilarious though! Apparently when the Fullers and Morbys were walking back to the car from dinner they were passed by a big lady in sweat pants and her dog and as she passed she ripped quite the fart and everyone was confused as to what happened and then figured it out ran into a store as they were busting up laughing. Trey and I were dying in the car just listening to them tell the story afterwards.

We went to a cool market, they had some pretty random stuff. My favorite thing I saw was the visors with random hair glued on the top. A lot of old people were buying them, it made me laugh.

This was right when we got on the tram, I think Trey nearly wet himself.

We went on a sweet tram ride over in Palm Springs. As you can see from the pictures, it was pretty dang high. We went from the desert to a winter wonderland. I felt like I was back home in Utah. We were all a little under dressed. It was a good time and the view was spectacula!

And I just couldn't leave out our favorite place we ate at...twice! I dedicate this post to you In-N-Out Burger. Thank you for putting smiles on our faces and making our tummys happy. We hope you come to Utah soon. :)

Plans

Well, for those of you who don't know, we are going to be sticking around for another year in Utah. I shot myself in the foot by submitting my application a little too late into the season to get interviews at different schools. There were rumors of us moving to SLC, but I must vanquish them now. We decided it would be 100 times easier to stay put in Logan and get ready for the next bout of applications. I plan on getting into the OR at Logan Regional as a volunteer and eventually getting a job as an anesthesia tech. A buddy of mine already works there and said there will be openings soon. I don't think the money is too great, but the experience will be priceless. He said that most of the time the surgeons and staff need an extra pair of hands so I'll get to scrub in on procedures. I am also going to be taking a couple psych courses as well as a photography course. Nothing too heavy, 6 credits max each semester. I am a little burned out on school and I think cutting back will help me to rejuvenate. I know I was pretty upset at first when I realized I would not be entering medical school this fall, but I think it was more of a shot to my ego than actual disappointment. I think this will really work out for the best because I get to take a few classes I've always wanted to, and I get a break from heavy schoolwork for a while. On top of that, we get an extra summer in Logan, which is a nice plus. I am really excited to have a year "off" and do things with Michelle that we've always wanted to. Perhaps a trip to the Philippines may be in order...who knows.

My New Baby

Graduation is just around the corner (for right now anyway) so Michelle decided to get my present a little early. She's gorgeous...she's sleek...she's a fixed gear. I wasn't too familiar with this type of bike until recently and I am hooked. Fixed gear means when the bike tire moves so do the pedals...there is no coasting. It's a ton of fun and now I know why Robert (the owner of Recycled and New Bicycles and the man I bought this bike from) doesn't ride anything else. Here are some pictures of her. You'll notice she is simple, but very sexy. I am still thinking of a name for her. Anyway, I haven't posted for a while, so enjoy this little tidbit. Oh by the way, I'll take name suggestions for my bike.

I LOVE today!!

I had the priviledge of meeting Jillian Michaels today at my work! Yes, we are THAT cool. She's interested in endorsing a new product line. I think it would be soo great!

So this is how it all went down...everyone knew she was coming and so there was a mass email sent that said if we wanted to meet her, get autographs, & take pics that we should meet in the lobby at 12. So we went down there and of course it was mostly women waiting to see her. When they were ready they took us into the conference room and she came in and told us a little bit about herself and that she is interested in working with Icon in the future. Then she opened it up for questions.

She was so stinkin cute, just a ball of energy and happiness just how she is on The Biggest Loser. She really is a little weeblit, but man is she buff!

I'm so happy I got to meet her and get a picture with her! A big thanks to Heidi for thinking ahead and bringing her camera! Too bad we didn't get to workout with her, I would have loved to have her kick my butt!!! I'm happy, it's definitely been a good day. Oh and I cut my hair again, as you might be able to see in the pic. Fun fun!!! Happy Friday everyone!

This is what I do when Trey studies...

Trey gave me 2 books for my birthday, Sublime Stitching & Doodle-Stitching. I wanted to learn something new and thought it would be fun to take up embroidery. So this is my very first piece of...randomness I guess you could say. I was going through the books and learning how to do all the crazy stitches. I had no idea there was such a plethera of options! The possibilities are endless! I'm surprised at how much fun it is. I feel like a grandma sometimes and Trey thinks it's funny how intense I am when I'm doing it. I get quite focused, in my "creative zone" if you will. So hope you enjoy my random collage. My favorite part is the little squirrel.

I think my next project will be these precious little forest creatures made out of felt. When I saw them in Doodle-Stitching it was love at first site. I think I will make a small one that we can hang from our rear view mirror. That was Trey's idea :).

I just think they are adorable! I think I will work up to doing a quilt or something fun like that...we'll see how it goes. I highly recommend this to anyone...although I think women might enjoy it a little more than men would. It's very relaxing.

My happy little tree...in memory of Bob Ross

In college, I took a few classes on Photoshop & Illustrator so sometimes when work is slow, I like to play around and make weird little drawings on my computer. I just thought I might post one for fun. Here is my happy little tree...haha that was such a Bob Ross thing to say. I always loved to watch him paint, me and my dad would be so facinated by it. What a talented guy. This one's for you Bob!
