Isn't it about...time?

Oh the old church ads. Well I was thinking it IS about time I do another post on the old blogaroo.

Grandma & Grandpa Brenchley came out for a visit a few weeks ago. It was so fun to have guests come stay with us. Lucy had a good time getting reacquainted with her grandparents. We went on some fun walks, toured the med school, visited Chocolate World, drove out to Intercourse and ate at a Smorgasbord (sooo delish!), found some steals at local garage sales, played some Phase 10, and ate plenty of Fractured Prune donuts. The weather was beautiful! I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

I haven't posted a Lucy video in awhile...I think you'll be surprised by how she's changed since the last one. I can't believe she's almost 4 months old!

We have #1 - the old man comb-over

#2 - I can't decide what this one looks like but its pretty darn awesome,

or last, but not least, #3 - The gorgeous mullet (there is most definitely a party going on in back!)

I think she could rock any of them, but I especially like the mullet (can you imagine if a baby came out with hair that long?? Ha ha..). For now, I definitely prefer her cute bald little head covered with a thin layer of peach fuzz.

Saving the planet...one diaper at a time!

This is one awesome little diaper...

Here is Luce modeling one of her gDiapers. We were so excited when her bum finally grew into these happy little cloth diapers. Many people have asked about these when we told them we were going to use cloth diapers so I thought I would put all of your inquiring minds at ease.

Basically, there are 3 parts to these diapers. We have:

1. The cloth diaper aka gPant
2. The leak-proof liner
3. The flushable/compostable insert aka gRefill (which happen resemble a gigantic maxi pad)
   

So the cloth diaper has 4 snaps on the inside which secures the liner in the diaper(this makes it super easy to change them whenever they get dirty). See snaps below.

You just stuff the insert into the liner and they are ready to go on baby's bum. When baby goes potty, you just take out the insert and tear along the edge and dump out the inner fluffy stuff into the toilet and use your handy little swish stick to break it up so it will flush easily. Then you throw the rest of the insert in and flush away! You have to flush the poopy inserts but you can either flush, compost, or toss the pee ones because they are bio-degradable. It will break down in the landfill in about 90 days vs. up to 500 years for a disposable. How cool is that?

An official med student

Here is our official med student...

Notice the crisp, new white coat. All new med students receive short white coats as they begin their long journey towards becoming doctors. When they graduate, they receive a long white coat.

We is so proud of our doctor-in-training. Notice Lucy's excitment. The white coat ceremony put her right to sleep.

It was so fun, Trey's mom and aunty came out for the ceremony and stayed with us for a few days. It went by way too fast, I wish they could have stayed longer. But we were able to go here...

Has anyone ever heard of the Fractured Prune? Strange name, awesome donuts! Apparently there are quite a few locations out here in the east. And it just so happens that one is conveniently placed right across the street from our house! Trey and I have started a ritual of walking over there every Saturday morning and trying a new donut. They make their donuts fresh and serve them to you HOT. My fave so far has been the raspberry one(it has some fancy name but I can't remember it). Click here to see their tasty selection.

Ah a world of chocolate. The tour was pretty funny...let's just say there are lots of singing cows...but hey, you get free chocolate at the end so who's complaining? I have a feeling we'll be going there a lot during the winter when there is nothing to do. I'm sure Lucy will love it when she gets a little older.
