This is what I do when Trey studies...

Trey gave me 2 books for my birthday, Sublime Stitching & Doodle-Stitching. I wanted to learn something new and thought it would be fun to take up embroidery. So this is my very first piece of...randomness I guess you could say. I was going through the books and learning how to do all the crazy stitches. I had no idea there was such a plethera of options! The possibilities are endless! I'm surprised at how much fun it is. I feel like a grandma sometimes and Trey thinks it's funny how intense I am when I'm doing it. I get quite focused, in my "creative zone" if you will. So hope you enjoy my random collage. My favorite part is the little squirrel.

I think my next project will be these precious little forest creatures made out of felt. When I saw them in Doodle-Stitching it was love at first site. I think I will make a small one that we can hang from our rear view mirror. That was Trey's idea :).

I just think they are adorable! I think I will work up to doing a quilt or something fun like that...we'll see how it goes. I highly recommend this to anyone...although I think women might enjoy it a little more than men would. It's very relaxing.

My happy little tree...in memory of Bob Ross

In college, I took a few classes on Photoshop & Illustrator so sometimes when work is slow, I like to play around and make weird little drawings on my computer. I just thought I might post one for fun. Here is my happy little tree...haha that was such a Bob Ross thing to say. I always loved to watch him paint, me and my dad would be so facinated by it. What a talented guy. This one's for you Bob!

I failed to recognize my sissy and her husband for coming to the show. They had to find people to watch their children so they could be there to support me. Thanks LoLo my sissy and CoCo my step-daddy...love you guys.

A Night of Whimsical Entertainment

For those of you who don't know...I had the opportunity to play drums with my sister-in-law Jamie's younger brother Skyler at club NVO here in Logan. Jamie's husband (michelle's bro) Bryan called me up a week before the show wanting to know if I wanted to play. He played bass for Skyler a month or so ago, and this time they wanted a full band. I agreed, but was a little hesitant because I have never played at a real venue. We played with 4 other local bands and 2 touring bands Friday night. I thought it was a locals only thing, so when I saw the 2 "legit" bands showing up with vans and trailers I was a little intimidated. I was a nervous wreck most of the night before we got on stage. I want to give a quick shout out to Zach and Callie Morby and Michelly for being there the entire time to keep me calm. I think I paced about 2.8 miles before our set. Once we got out there, I was calm as can be, and I LOVED having mics hooked up to my drums. They sounded so awesome. In between songs I would rock a little groove just to here it. My bass drum sounded like it could thump through your chest..man I loved the sound. We played our set, but with only a week to practice and my getting a little over zealous I made one major mistake that only the legit bands could hear. The night went well, and I think the performing bug bit me so my friend Mike and I might start writing music and trying the whole thing again sometime. Here are some pics and a vid.

Snow, Chinese New Year, Globetrotters, & Lovers Day

I haven't written in a while and figured I should update you on our "exciting" lives. First of all, the snow up here has been crazy! Trey and I got the camera out when we were shoveling the other day...

Our second notable event we participated in was a Chinese New Year party last Saturday. My co-worker Billy invited us down to the Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Ogden for the party. It got pretty crazy when they started playing the Chinese drinking games. Yowza! It was quite entertaining. And I must say that the food was amazing! And it was free! Thanks Billy! Here are a few pictures from the party...

All our food...potstickers, egg drop soup, marshmellow shrimp yumminess, duck (not our fav), sushi, lettuce wraps, low mein w/veggies, spicy chicken, kung pao chicken, and more deliciousness. It was all amazing!

My dear sweet co-worker, Melissa Hoover. Trey calls her "Hoovy". Sitting next to her is her boyfriend Dave who also works at Icon. Icon just brings people together. They are a crazy, fun couple.

They also had Chinese karaoke going on and a dessert contest which we participated in. Unfortunately, my amazing homemade raspberry cheesecake didn't win the $100 prize! Oh well, maybe next year.

Fun event #3: Harlem Globetrotters! 9th row baby! My work hooked us up. We decided to bring the Fullers with us. It was a pretty fun show.

And of course, last but not least, Valentines Day! It didn't really go the way we had planned it but we still ended up having fun together. We originally planned to go to the Indian Oven but when we got there we realized they only had a special V-day menu that didn't have the dish Trey wanted and the options were very expensive so we bailed and went to IHOP instead. :) After we went to the DI and shopped around. Trey found a sweet brown DC backpack for $5! This is why we love the DI. After we went to the store and got some yummy expensive drinks that we wouldn't normally buy, some softserve, munchies, and I got my favorite treat, chocolate covered cinnamon bears! We ended up renting the Simpsons movie from Redbox and stuffed our faces while we laughed our heads off. Pretty romantic eh? Here are some pics of what we got each other...

Trey also gave me this cute necklace with shells on it. He said he got it because it reminded him of me. I'm his "Shell." I've always loved seashells ever since I was a kid. It was very sweet of him. Love you honey!

The Knotty Tree...

I was just dinking around on the computer and I saw this picture that Trey took this past summer when we were hiking the Crimson Trail up Logan Canyon. This is pretty much the coolest tree I have ever seen. Yes, this is random, but hey, it's me. :)

A Weekend With the Islanders...

As some of you know, 2 weekends ago we had the priviledge of hanging out with my dear brother Christy (his name is Chris but we like to call him that) and his cute prego wife Cheryl who came to visit all the way from Hawaii! It was a weekend full of Guitar Hero, baby showers, Juno, the "couch game", yummy food, the "big chunks" story, home movies, and much laughter. We miss them already. Cheryl got tons of cute baby clothes! It was fun just to hang out with the SILs and some of Cheryl's close friends at the shower and chit chat. Us girls just need girl time sometimes. Mandy and Suz made some really yummy soups and Jamie made rolls shaped like binkies. They were super cute! I wish I would have taken a picture...actually I forgot to take any pictures at the shower, sorry Cheryl. I think we all forgot because we were just having so much fun. Trey and I went out with Jen and Shaun to see Juno, that is such a good movie! We were laughing our heads off. I totally give it 5 stars. I think my favorite part of the weekend was when we broke out the old home videos and we were all watching Bryan being the animated little kid that he was..."Hey guys, I just popped out of California, ah ha ha!" Only those present would get that one. Good times! Oh and I think I had everyone laughing pretty good when I told Mom's "big chunks" story. If only all of you could have been there, it was classic!
