I'll have a husband again!

I did it! I've survived my 3 days of being the lonesome dove. And I didn't even freak myself out like I usually do when I'm home late at night by myself! I'm picking Trey up at the airport tonight. It's been nice to have a little "me" time but I'm ready for my hubbs to come home. It's much more fun when he's around. :)

I watched the cutest girly movie last night, Penelope. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Your husband might even like it too. The story has a great moral to it...and James McAvoy isn't too bad to look at either.

Trey said his interview went really well. He loves the campus and the people and the way they have their curriculum set up. He ran into his friend that got into Iowa for the 2008-09 school year and he loves it there. Him and his wife love the area they live in and their ward is awesome. I really would love it he got in there. It would be so fun to live so close to Phil & Nicole and the kiddies! That's my bro and his fam for those of you who don't know. Hopefully we'll hear back from U of I soon!

Interview #1

Hey everyone...guess what?!? The university of Iowa has invited me to interview with them for Fall 2009 matriculation into their med school. I'm pretty pumped about it because we would really like to go there. I know I know what you're thinking...Iowa?...let me just say that Iowa City is actually a pretty awesome place. I've been there twice and it's got a really cool Indie feel to it. It has places for me to skate, cruise my fixie, and eat like a champ. It's a really safe place as well. Michelle's brother Phil and his wife and 3 kids live there too. He is doing his residency in anesthesia with U of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. It would be awesome to live close to them for a while. I leave sept 30th and come back oct 2. I had to throw down quite a few bones for the plane ticket, but I have to consider it an investment. Anyway, I haven't posted in a while and decided to let everyone know I'm still alive. Peace in the Middle East!

We won!!!!

Okay, so we didn't exactly win, but we all finished! And in pretty good time if I do say so myself. And we didn't come in last place! I was very pleased with Team MyBanBurLery's inspiring performance. I'm so proud of Robin! She even threw up during the run and still toughed it out until the end. Man, there was this hill on mile 2 that was killer! But the rest of the race was actually pretty fun! I like being on a team rather than just running for yourself. I could probably do something like that again...in a year. :) Here are some pics we snapped...

Team Banbury

Believe it or not, Trey & I are running in a race. The Utah Marathon Relay. I'm really hoping I don't collapse and kill over after the first mile. I'm not exactly a runner. Neither is Trey for the most part. I'm excited to use my awesome, super comfy running shoes. I haven't really tested them out yet for a distance longer than 1.5 miles. Like I said earlier, not a big runner. We're doing it to support Trey's mom because she wanted to get a bunch of the Banburys together and run in this race. I'm so proud of her, she said she wanted to run the first leg. GO ROBIN! There are 5 of us in the race and we'll each run 5.2 miles. Not bad, right? It doesn't SOUND bad. We'll see how it goes. I'm okay with a speed walk/slow jog for part of the time. I don't think we're trying to place or anything so no pressure...I hope! I'm excited to be part of Team Banbury. Team Banbury consists of me, Trey, Robin(Trey's mom), Lauree(Trey's sissy), and Cory(Lauree's hubby). Heath will be our back up in case anyone gets injured or passes out along the way. :)

The Missionaries Have Returned!

The parentals are finally home! They rolled in today at about 4:45pm. It was so good to see them, I really have missed having them around for the past year. My mom kept saying "it's like we never left". They both looked so cute with their little missionary name tags on. I know they were such awesome missionaries. I'm so proud of them. I'm excited to hear about all their stories. For those of you who don't know, my parents served a mission in Rochester, NY for the past year. They loved it out there and have a great love for the people of Batavia, the town they served in. They were very close to Palmyra and got to visit the Palmyra Temple and the Sacred Grove often. My dad told us some neat stories about those 2 places. They also got to serve at the Hill Cumorah Pageant this year. They had their own little booth where they handed out pamphlets and answered questions and such. I know my mom really enjoyed that. She called me one night she was there just giddy as can be. I'm so grateful for the great examples they are to me. I've truly been blessed with wonderful parents. And it's so fun to have them back! Here are a few pictures from earlier today...

The welcome home cake...no I didn't make this one. It was funny how I started critiquing their work because I know some of the techniques and whatnot. The lady who taught my cake decorating class said we would start doing that. I hope I don't turn into a cake snob!
