Celebrating Trey's Day of Birth!!!

Happy birthday honey buns!!! I love you to pieces. And I love the weird faces you like to pull in pictures. Here are some pictures of Trey opening his presents this morning.

Granolified!

We're officially becoming granolified this summer. It's bound to happen when you live in Logan for so long. Ok just playin', we're not, but we have both starting riding our bikes to work. Trying to save some money since gas prices are pretty much ridiculous and bound to get worse. We also finally got to go camping this weekend!!! Wahoo! The weather was beautimus! We went with our buddies Zack & Callie up Blacksmith Fork Canyon. Sorry, no pics this time. It was practically dark when we made it up to the campsite. We went to the Summerfest, Logan's art festivus, which was conveniently located at the Tabernacle (2 blocks from our house) on Saturday. There was some crazy hippy art there, I enjoyed it. Later we hung out with our friends the Jensens and layed some blankets down on their front lawn, drank smoothies, and enjoyed the nice summer night. Trey and Jake strummed their guitar and ukulele. Yeah, I would call it the granola/hippy weekend for sure!

And just in case anyone was wondering, in approximately 29 hours we will be venturing out of the Utah bubble! Woo woot!!! I'm super excited, boy do I need a vaca. Our destination: CHICAGO!!! And yes, we will be going to a Cubbies game! I'll take lots of pics and will probably post the longest blog entry anyone has ever seen. Should be a good time. Stay tuned! Ah the great outdoors...

I must say I'm a little bugged with the weather lately. Trey and I have been itching to go camping this summer but where is the beautiful summer weather that we have been anxiously anticipating for the past 8 months??? Who knows, but it's definitely not in Logan. Although I'm happy to say that this week's weather forecast does look promising. Let's keep our fingers crossed, shall we?

We got some sweet camping gear with our stimulus moneys from the good ol US goverment. I took my first trip to Smith & Edwards, that was quite the experience! You could seriously spend a whole day in there looking at all the stuff. Our friend Nate likes to remind us that 'you can even buy a bomb!' there. Their slogan makes so much more sense to me now...'We Have Everything You Want ... If We Can Find It'. Well we ended up finding some pretty good stuff...

Trey also found us a sweet deal online on this little beauty. It's very lightweight, great for backpacking.

Our camping/hiking plans for this summer include White Pine Lake, the Wellsvilles for sure, either Moab and Arches National Park or Zions, maybe even some Havasupai if we're feeling crazy. I'd also like to explore the Minnetonka Caves up by Bear Lake, I've never been there before and I hear it is righteous! Oh and of course the Snake River with all the Banbury clan, can't forget that one!

Now hopefully the weather cooperates so we can do all this crazy fun stuff before it gets cold again! Oh and here are some pictures of us and our friends up the canyon having a good old fashioned mallow/weinie roast...this is the closest we've been to camping this year :)

Pretty much the best idea ever...

I would like to give a shout out to our new found love...Netflix! Seriously, whoever thought up the whole idea is a genius! And a rich genius I'm sure. For only $9.99 a month, we get 2 DVDs a week, delivered right to our mailbox. It's so great, we've been doing it for about a month and a half now and we are sold! We have been able to queue up some old movies that we've always wanted to see, but never wanted to spend the $2 to rent them at a regular movie store. Last week we started it off with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I loved it! Paul Newman is a crack up! We decided the young Robert Redford resembled Brad Pitt quite a bit. Tres attractive.
The last movie we watched was Casablanca, also a classic that neither of us had seen. I thought it was a really good movie. I finally got to see where that famous line comes from, "Here's lookin at you kid." I highly recommend it.
Some others on our queue that I'm excited to get are: Cool Hand Luke, The Bucket List, Xanadu(both of us have never seen it, we hear it's crazy), The Kite Runner, Benny and Joon, Some Like It Hot, Say Anything, and of course, Ghost Dad. I say of course because I was OBSESSED with this movie when I was little. I would always beg my parents to rent it every weekend. I really can't remember much about it so I'm kind of excited to see it. It will probably be lame but I'm sure it will give me a good laugh.
So does anyone have any other recommendations for good movies to add to our queue???

We have been quoting this funny little video clip all weekend. Most of you may have seen this on YouTube before, it's a classic! Hope it brings a smile to your face, it makes me laugh everytime I watch it. Ya gotta love the kid's cute british accent and the fact that Charlie is getting a kick out of biting his big brother.

The Office Season 4 Finale

Farewell Toby, have fun in Costa Rica! Meet cute Holly, the new Toby, who is strangely attracted to Michael.

So The Office season finale aired last night and man, it was a good one! I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I really thought (and I'm sure everyone else did as well) that this was going to be the episode when Jim FINALLY proposes to Pam. My friend Amber and I were DYING when we saw Andy get up on stage right as Jim was ready to pop the question!!! Dang Andy! It's not like I've been waiting for that prized Jim & Pam moment since day 1 or anything! Oh and quite the scandalous ending, don't you think? I knew they were going to throw in a zinger at the end, but I didn't think it would be that! Shame shame, I know your name...We were all laughing pretty hard at that.

I must admit I was quite sad that Michael went back to Jan in the end. Those two drive me nuts together. I'm really curious to see where they are going to go with that whole thing next season.

My favorite element of this episode was Holly thinking Kevin was "slow". And from the way he was acting, I could see how she would think that. I truly enjoyed her talking to him like a little kid the whole episode and him thinking she was totally into him. I love Kevin and his big goofy looking grin, it makes me laugh everytime I see it.

I also loved that Jim told Ryan off! Although, it makes me nervous that somehow it will come back to bite him in the future. And who was happy when Ryan got busted?! Pick me, pick me! I'm going to miss quite Toby and his obsession with Pam for sure.

So I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts about it, what you liked, what you didn't like, and what you predict might happen in the future. And if you haven't seen it yet, sorry I just spoiled it for you. :) But you should still go to NBC.com & watch the episode! I promise you will not regret it.
