Summa time when the livin's EZ...

We're going a little out of order here because Trey is workin on the 4th of July post so this is picking up the weekend after the 4th.
On Friday, Trey's boss invited us and our friends Clay & Jess to go boating with him. We were all over that. Trey had never tried wake boarding so he gave it a try...let's just say he probably won't be trying that again anytime soon. He didn't have such a fun time, I felt bad. It's hard your first time though. But it's like once you get it, you can pop right up almost every time. You just have to learn the feel of it. I was pretty stoked because I got up my first try and I haven't been wake boarding in 2 years! It just came right back to me. It was so fun, I actually was going in and out of the wake! That is a big accomplishment for me. In the past I've only been able to go in and out of the wake once and then I would turf it. So at least one of us was successful :)
The next day we woke up early and went with our friend Amber to the Salt Lake Farmer's Market. Her husband Jake works at the Crumb Brothers down there so we wanted to go see him in action, and check out the market. It was quite a bit bigger than the little Logan Farmer's Market. Everyone and their dog was there...I mean that literally. Everyone had their dogs with them. Apparently I missed the memo.
Here is one of our favorite little boys in the world...Jack. Amber had this awesome little baby carrier (the "Baby Bjorn") she strapped him in. I'm totally getting one of those when we have a wee little one.
Amber rockin her movie star look. Isn't he the cutest little guy?

Here is Jake in action, selling bread like a mad man. Crumb Brothers bread is amazing, FYI.

Here's a bunch more pictures of the little monkey

Trey & Amber were making him laugh pretty hard

Later that night, we went to the Logan Demo Derby with the Morbizzles. This was mine & Callie's very first Demo Derby experience...and quite the experience it was. It was surprisingly more fun than I thought. I didn't realize how much fun it would be to watch a bunch of cars crash into each other in a big pit of dirt. Here are a few pics...
The demo derby virgins

There was a dance contest in the middle of the heats and this dude was our favorite, even though he didn't win. He had some wicked moves...

I was amazed this car was still running...

They did a van vs. truck round...the van annihilated the truck. Those Club Wagons are rocks, I tell you what! I love this pic because you can see the back wheels of the van are airborne.

The van definitely won this fight.

Good times! I'm definitely a fan of the demo derb. There is an all truck vs. van derby in September that we will be attending. If anyone would like to join us, let us know. Seriously. We're totally going.

sounds like a blast. Mark has never been able to get up on a wake board until the last time we went so I think three different days of boating so tray will get it eventually it's just like you said once you get the hang of it you wonder why it was hard!! It took me forever to get up too.

The funny thing is, I got up so easy on water skis and people say wakeboarding is so much easier. I think I wore myself out on the first 10 tries too, my forearms were toast for a few days.

I agree with Trey, wakeboarding is harder. Not that I'm good at either, but wakeboarding does turn your arms to poop. Michelle, I can't believe you had never been to a demolition derby before! You must be a city girl. It's like my lifelong dream to be in one. I love them. Delta's on the 4th are the best. And I have to say I love that your friends with the Morbys. I served with Zack, funny guy.

Oh man, I wish we also got a picture of the one legged guy hopping after the guy who stole his leg in the dance contest! That night was priceless!

You better believe we will be at that derby! This is my first summer without a derby since I was 9. I'm a serious fan.

Ha ha, oh yeah I forgot about that part of the dance contest! That was hilarious!! I was dying and didn't even think about grabbing my camera until the kid gave the guy his leg back. Good times indeed!
