The past 2 weeks have been heaven. Spring Break 2010 baby, yeah! Who knew they would have that in med school? I'm all for it. Trey actually only had a 1 week break, the other week he had a preceptorship with a local family doctor. He loved it. He lucked out with his preceptor, he let Trey see half the patients each day (by himself) and help with procedures. He got go put in interrupted sutures, use a Bovie to zap some moles and other stuff, take histories and do physical exams, and diagnosed a few pneumonias, etc. He really clicked with the staff and had a great time. I'm so happy he had such a good experience. And I loved that it was only a 5-minute drive from our house. Score!
The weather has been perfect. Lucy is such an outdoorsy chicka already. We can't wait to take her camping. I introduced her to grass and of course the first thing she did was pick it and put it in her mouth. She has also sampled leaves, dirt, and wood chips from the playground. YUM!
We did lots of organizing and rearranging and baby-proofing in the house this past week. I feel a lot better now about letting Lucy roam, although I still have to keep a close eye on her. This chicky is fast! The little miss took her first step yesterday, can you believe it?! I think it will be a few weeks before she starts trying to take more than one step on her own, I'll keep you updated. This girl needs to slow down! She's growing up way too fast on us.
Speaking of, Lucy has 7 teeth and is working on #8! She can't grow hair so I think she's compensating by growing teeth. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a full set of chompers by her first birthday. :)
Luce just loves reading her books. Her favorite thing to do lately is go to her shelf and take off all her books and spread them everywhere. This is super fun for mom to clean up. I can't wait until she gets old enough to learn how to clean up her own toys and books.

Check out that face, she totally knows she doing something she's not supposed to.
We took a trip out to the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg. Driving through the ghetto to get there was a fun experience. The museum was really interesting but we had to kind of rush through it since we got there 2 hours before it closed. Luce Bjorned it for most of the time and did awesome. What a good baby we have.
I sat in the back with her on the drive home and played. Blinded, ha ha, I love her face in this one.
I think she is starting to look a little more like me, but it definitely depends on the picture. She looks like me in this one I think.
Other Spring Break happenings of note:
- Trey got a $109 ticket(ouch!) for turning right on red when it was "clearly" posted that it was illegal(I'd never noticed it before)
- We attempted to visit DC on a Saturday (bad idea!) which turned into a big mess but we did get to eat at Good Stuff Eatery so there was one good thing that happened in DC. We ended up getting a parking ticket for $25 which was one of the reasons why we did not like DC that day. We ended up ditching lame DC early and cruised up to Baltimore to hang out with the Niehoffs instead. Totally redeemed the lousy day of driving in the car.
- Kansas lost?! My bracket is still in good shape since I predicted Kentucky to take it all. GO KENTUCKY!!!
- We got to be apart of the excitment of Match Day for the 4th year med students. We have 9 4th years in our ward. I'm sad to see them all go. They are all spread out all over the country.

I wonder what age kids are when they learn to clean up their own toys and books?!? (You might be waiting a long time.)
Those expensive tickets SUCK! There goes your PLAY money. Sorry. But, I bet you'll always stop on that RED and not turn right now, huh? ;)
So fun to see all the pictures of Lucy! Sorry about your ticket trey. I'll trade you the one I got for turning left in a median with a fine of $250 along with a $250 fine for my cracked windshield for your $109 ticket!
If you figure out how to teach Lucy to pick up her toys, let me know because Logan is the messiest boy ever.
