4 months!

Time to eat! I know I say this every month but I can't believe she is this old already! My newborn is now a baby! Ahhh! And I can't believe it's fall too! Double weirdness going on here. How can I sum up the past month? Well, Ruby went from being a great nighttime sleeper to waking up every 2 to 3 hours again. After 2 weeks of this I was so done with it so we decided to move the crib to the spare room and turn it into her temporary room until she gets older and then we'll move her in with the Lucy girl. Yep, we kicked her out. Sorry Rubes. It was for your own good. It was for everyone's good actually. We started "sleep training" and the first 2 nights were a little rough just listening to her cry herself back to sleep but now it is so much better! She usually doesn't wake up until 5 now. I wake up and feed her and then she'll go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. It's so dreamy. The naps are a different story. I guess I just have to deal with the fact that I have a baby who doesn't nap longer than a half hour at a time. It's just frustrating because it doesn't really give me enough time to get anything done. It does give me a little time to play with Lucy one-on-one which is nice but it goes by way too fast.
We sure love our little Ruester. She is so much fun right now. I'm loving the huge smiles and giggles and coos and growls.

Here's a few more things about 4-month-old Ruby:

  • Her hair is more wild than ever these days. I love it. Our friend described it perfectly. It looks like you rubbed a balloon on her head and it's standing up with static electricity.
  • She rolled over yesterday from her belly to her back, totally by accident.  She was surprised when it happened. Otherwise, she really isn't interested in rolling at all which I'm totally fine with. I am in no rush to get her mobile. :)
  • She weighed 14.5 lbs and was 25 inches long at her 4-month-old appointment.
  • She still has acid reflux issues but she doesn't spit up as often which is nice. As long as she gets her meds she is a happy camper.
  • She is getting better at sitting in her carseat but we haven't really gone too far to test what her limit is. I guess we will in a few weeks when we head to the Baltimore Airport. :)
  • No teeth yet but she is still chewing on everything she can get in her mouth.
  • She loves to touch and feel everything.
  • She loves to suck on her lips.
  • She discovered her toes this past month. She always grabs for them when she's playing on the ground.
  • She smiles at her little baby friends on the playground.
  • She is definitely a little Lucy 2.0. They look so similar when you compare photos. Except Ruby has hair and Lucy is as bald as can be.
  • She has the stinkiest toots EVER! I'm telling you, this girl can pack a punch.
  • She has a curly tongue.
  • She loves to stroke my shirt when she's nursing. It totally makes me laugh.
  • I fed her rice cereal for the first time today and she ate it! I still can't believe she's old enough to eat solids.
  • She has strong legs and loves to stand. She does this funny little dance where she sticks out her bum and then pulls it in and she does it over and over. It's pretty dang funny.
  • She loves her sock monkey so much. She loves to grab him and give him big kisses.
  • She loves to give slobbery open mouth kisses to all of us.
  • She has found how much fun it is to pull Lucy's hair.
  • She loves to dance and kick her little feet.
My 2 blue-eyed babes

 Toesies!

 What is this stuff?
 Strange texture...but I'll eat it.
