-Unpacked! UGH! We're pretty much unpacked but it's going to take us a while to actually get organized and get the place looking cute.
-Cleaned and dejunked - also another fun activity but it had to get done.
-Tore out the wet bar, sanded, primed, painted, and carpeted downstairs. It's not quite finished, we still need to paint the trim and put it back up and get new baseboards. The old ones were no bueno. There was definitely some water damage going on there. We will post pics when it is all finished and our new couches arrive. This week, yay!!! But the painted wood paneling and the carpet look great. I'm really happy with the way it turned out so far. The carpet is heavenly! We got an awesome deal on the super soft stuff.
-Met our neighbors and are making new friends. Moving is always tough but I've felt so welcomed here by our amazing neighbors and people in the ward. I LOVE our neighborhood! The houses are so so charming and we pretty much have the coolest next door neighbors ever. Lucy loves their little boy Caleb so we usually end up hanging out outside while the kids play most evenings.
-I joined HSSA, which is the spouse club for anyone who works at Cleveland Clinic. They always have playdates and tons of fun things to do around here for cheap. For example, one day we went to a splash pad with Kassie & Jane. The kids had a blast.
Love Janer's face in this one, ha ha!
-We went camping! There are a ton of guys in the ward who are Anesthesia residents so their families kind of band together and do fun stuff together. They are awesome and invited us to go camping with them behind the John Johnson Farm in Hiram, OH. The campground was perfect! I loved the flushing toilets and sinks. I guess they do a bunch of girls camps and scout camps there. Here is our little grouping of tents...
Here was the group of kiddos. They were so cute together.
Just chillin by the fire. The weather was perfect!
Cicely and Gwen
Lucy had a blast with Jane
Blurry but cute, they loved playing with Norman (the dog).
Don't look too happy there Rubes.
Lucy was in heaven camping and playing with little friends. She keeps asking when we can go again.-Lucy learned how to ride a bike! On July 21 we busted out the 2-wheeler with pedals and she said she wanted me to put the training wheels on it. So as I was digging around to find the wheels and tools to attach them she grabbed the bike and started trying to ride it and it just clicked. She started pedaling and she already knew how to balance like a pro (thanks to her balance bike) so it just happened. She started pedaling down the driveway! We were all so surprised! She has been practicing since then and has gotten pretty good at maneuvering that little bike. So proud of my lady!
-We got pool passes for the local pool. Lucy is doing swim lessons and is having a blast. Ruby loves the water and keeps me on my toes. She's quite daring.
Now we're just settling in and getting a crash course in home ownership. Nothing bad has happened but just little things here and there pop up and it sucks that ya can't just call maintenance and have them fix all our problems. We're sure enjoying the gorgeous weather we're having here. It's been a super rainy summer but it's been sunny a lot too. I'm surprised at how humid it is here, even more so than PA most days. So far we're really liking our new home and surroundings and feel like this is definitely where we need to be.
