I posted these especially for you daddy-o. 

The first one is Lucy showing how she dances.  She usually dances to music but this time she thought the washing machine had a pretty good beat.

My favorite part is that she kept looking back like, "Hey mom, are you getting this?  This is good footage here!"

Have I mentioned how fast time flies??  I can't believe she will turn one in a few weeks!

My first sock monkey

I finished one of my crafts that I had on my list.  Wahoo!  3 down, 5 to go.

I was so stoked when I found such a happy-colored pair of socks.  I used this tutorial if any of you would like to give it a go.

Ha ha, I just realized how long I left the arms.  Whoopsies. :)  Well I guess they are pretty true to size since monkeys have freakishly long arms.

Ahh...don't you just love the feeling of finishing a project?  I think that's why I love to start them because when I actually finish one, the feeling of accomplishment is so sweet.  I started this little guy a while ago so I'm happy I finally got around to finish it.

We took the Lucy picture first and were giggling at her cute face so Trey decided to reenact it, sweat band and all.  Yes, I live with these two and yes, there is never a dull moment.

Monkey update

It's time for another Lucy Lu update! It's been a while since I've posted about the progress of our silly little monkey.

She will be 11 months in a week! Yikes!  When did my baby turn into a toddler??  It really is crazy how quickly time has flown.  This stage of her life has been so fun.  She's taking several steps at a time now.  She's a speed crawler.  She loves to get into EVERYTHING and put it all in her mouth.  She recently went on a baby food strike (yes I panicked!) and only eats stuff she can pick up and put in her mouth herself (our little diva--heaven help us!).  She's a picky little eater.  Her foods of choice are bananas, green beans, pasta, and berries.  She still loves to sing & jibber jabber.  She now associates me with the word "mama" and Trey with the word "dada" so that's been fun.  She still looooves Pocoyo.  Don't tell Luce but she's going to have a Pocoyo birthday party for her first b-day.  I really couldn't have done it any other way.  Although I'm a little worried that when it comes time for her to "dig in" to her cake, that she won't want to touch it because it will be Pocoyo's face (at least that's the plan).  She has a mouth full of teeth.  She pulls lots of funny faces.  I love her cheeser in this one...

She stares strangers down at the grocery store, it makes me laugh.  And when I say strangers, I'm talking about the sweet old white-haired ladies.  She is so serious when she first meets someone (won't crack a smile) but once she decides they are cool, she is totally herself and gives them a big grin.  She hates being dressed, she would much rather run around naked all day long if she could.  She can throw fits sometimes which is kind of annoying, but I knew this day would come eventually.  Drama, drama, drama...you can tell she is a female. :)

Lucy loves to swing and chew on grass and woodchips at the playground (yum!).  She has recently found a new love, doggies!  About a month ago, we hung out with some friends in the ward.  We went over to their house and had dinner and watched some good old Arrested Development.  Anyway, they have this little dog, Indy is his name, that was a hyper little guy and he was bouncing all around and giving Lucy kisses and Lucy LOVED it.  I have never heard her giggle and laugh so hard, it was adorable!  I was really bummed that I didn't have my camera.  Next time we go over I'll get a video of it, it is just too funny!

This girl has so many nicknames already, here are just a few: Luce, Lu Babe, Lu Bear, Stinkers, Boo Boo, Lu Bee, Roosy, Lucy Goosy, Lucy Beans, Mooshka, Monkey, and the list goes on.  I can't wait until we have another little one (oh but I can!) so Lucy can make up nicknames for the little squirt.  I'm pretty sure she'll think up some good ones.

Luce loves her daddy.  I love this picture of her loungin' on him.  She's a great little cuddler when she's tired.

This girl just warms our hearts.  She is so fun to wake up to in the morning.  She's such a little sillypants.  It's so fun to see her little personality take shape.  We just love her to pieces.

Let it be known, I have the best job in the world!!!

I saw this on Oprah the other day and I fell in love with these guys' voices. I love their reactions when they see Celine Dion. As you can tell, it was a little surprise that Oprah set up. I'm just wondering how come I've never heard of The Canadian Tenors!

I am now a fan. :)

Busy week

It was strange to actually have a bunch of things going on this past week, with it being the Easter holiday and all. Me & Luce are used to just chillin' and doing whatever we please during the day so it was kinda fun to have some things planned with friends.

Last Tuesday, I went with a few friends to the Hands-On Museum in Lancaster. It was a cute little place where kids could do all sorts of fun things and play with all this random stuff. I think Luce will appreciate it more when she's a little older. She just wanted to touch everything and put it in her mouth (of course!).

This was a funny little room that had a game where you shoot germs.  Me & Lu played in there a few times.

They had a huge bin of all sorts of fun dress ups.  Luce chose the safari had with a nice cheetah print.  Very stylish my dear.

They grow up so fast, already wanting to drive.  Good thing she can't reach the steering wheel or the floor. :)

On Thursday I broke out the old cake decorating kit and and made my spring flower cupcakes. They always look like different types of flowers every time I make them. I think these turned out looking like mums.  Fun fun!

On Friday, we headed down to Baltimore (only 1.5 hours away, gotta love the east coast!) to the Niehoff residence for their annual Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza. They sure know how to throw a party! There were tons of people there, I'm talking like almost 200! They had easter egg hunts for kids of all ages, including the med students. They had over $600 in cash spread out in a bunch of silver and gold eggs, and a jackpot egg with a $100 bill in it! Alas, neither Trey nor I found the golden egg, but our friend Emily did so we were happy for her. With our combined efforts we found one gold egg with $5 in it. Better than nothing, right? :) After the hunts, we played a wicked game of dodgeball, kids vs. adults. Then they had volleyball, endless amounts of yummy treats, lounging, then a bbq and of course picking crab and a bonfire. We were all exhausted by the end of the day, especially little Luce. We were all a little overstimulated by all the craziness and all the people. It was a great time though.  Here are a bunch of pics from the day...

Saturday and Sunday we just layed low out at the house and enjoyed General Conference. It was nice to have a low-key, relaxing day after the big egg hunt.

Sunday morning, Luce had her first easter basket hunt. Actually, we left her easter basket in Baltimore so we put everything in a bowl instead. We didn't think she would mind. She didn't really get what was going on so we had to help her out a lot but she loved all the fun things she got.

In the afternoon we got together with the first, second, and third year med students for a big Easter dinner. It was super yummy & fun to get together with our peeps. After conference, we finally got around to dying eggs!

We dyed eggs while Luce was asleep.  Figured it would be easiest that way.  Here is Trey and his 3 eggs...

Right after I took this picture she dropped the orange and yellow one on the ground...it went ka-put. She didn't really get the whole egg = fragile thing. :)
