One month!

I can't believe our little Ruby is one month already! We just took her in for an appointment the other day and she weighed in at 9 lbs 11 oz so our little girly is definitely eating and growing. It's been fun getting to know our sweet little monkey. Here is a little bit we've learned about 1-month-old Ruby:
  • She looves to eat...a lot. She has been an awesome eater from day 1, which is so nice. We had troubles with Lucy in that department, until we discovered she loved bottles. :)
  • She spits up...a lot. We're pretty sure she has some reflux issues like Lucy did. We have her on liquid Zantac which seems to make her feel better but she still spits up a ton. Poor thing.
  • She's a good sleeper. She slept 7 hours straight for me two nights ago! I felt like a new woman when I woke up at 6am.
  • When she gets mad her skin (especially her face) turns bright red. Ruby red in fact. I feel a nickname coming on...
  • She is starting to lose her awesome fluffy hair, except for the full mullet she has in back. She's going to be rocking the monk mullet really soon I have a feeling.
  • She hates having a dirty diaper. She'll be screaming like a banshee and as soon as I get that diaper off and wipe all the poop off her bum she is the happiest little camper.
  • She's a strong little thing. She'll fling herself back when we're burping her sometimes. It's kinda scary actually. I need to keep a hand on her at all times so she doesn't fling herself out of my arms.
  • She is a fur ball. She's lost her back hair but she still has the hairiest upper arms. They actually have cowlicks! It's amazing. I'll have to see if I can capture it on my macro setting to prove it.
  • She lost her cord at 3 weeks. I couldn't believe how thick hers was. That's probably why it took so long to fall off.
  • She's a squawker. She'll usually just yell out once and stop. And then do it again and again. Unless she's really mad or hungry, then it's a full out cry.
  • She's been smiling for us more over the past few days. It's so stinkin' cute. I'm in love. :)
  • She looks so much like big sister did when she was a newborn but she's got her own look to her too. A little more Brenchley in her I think.
  • She loves her big sissy. She loves to watch her and she's always happy when Lucy is holding her.
Here are some pictures we've taken over the past month...

She looks SO much like Lucy did as a baby! I bet you're relieved to have a good eater :) Trey looks really tired in those pictures. Ahhh, the days of no sleep and a newborn. Nothing can prepare you for that.
