Toofs

Guess who cut not just 1, but 2 teeth this past week!! Yup, you guessed it, it was Trey! Good job honey, I could not be more proud! No, actually it was Luce. Crazy huh! It seems a bit early to me because I'm pretty sure she won't be using those chompers anytime soon. She really hasn't even started eating solids yet, except for the occasional serving of rice cereal that she ends up wearing and not actually ingesting.

It was so nice to finally figure out why she had been waking up several times a night for the prior 2 weeks (she's usually such a good lil sleeper). I thought she was just doing it to make us crazy. I have a lot more sympathy for her now, that growing teeth business has got to be painful. Poor little cookie. I tried to get a picture of them but it will be a 2 person job because that fast little tongue always gets in the way.

In other news, we're headed to Ohio next week for Thanksgiving! Woot woot, I've been sooo craving an adventure. This will be Lucy's first road trip. I hope she just zonks out for most of the drive, otherwise it could be an interesting ride. We're going to hang out with Trey's Aunt Lo, Gma Donna, and a bunch of Trey's extended fam who I have never met. Should be fun! Can you believe Thanksgiving is already next week??!! Where does the time go? Seriously!

Well here are some pics of Luce for all of her fans out there. She's getting bigger! The little monkey will be 6 months on the 29th!!!

Here she is showing a little leg...

Ha ha ha, she is fascinated by the camera.

She just started to hold her own bottle! Now that she has teeth she thinks she has to go all "big girl" on us.

Just getting her lounge on.

Lucy face!

Another Lucy face

I'll try to get a toofer picture and post it soon. I have some Lucy footage that I need to post also.

One word...

D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G!!!

Look at this creature I found on as I was sweeping off our patio!!! It gives me the willies just looking at it. Check out all the legs coming out from every which way!! And those long antennas coming from its head and bum! These little devils are fast, I'm surprised I got a picture of it. It was about 2 inches long. I had my first encounter with one of these bad boys my second week here, but it got away! And it was in the house!! Eeek!! Never did find it...
Well I'm happy to say that this one did not get away, I squashed that nasty bugger. Hopefully I don't see one of its relatives coming to get revenge any time soon. I'm NOT a fan of the creepy crawlies.

Spooky Scary

Can you believe it's November already? And sure enough I feel like I'm already being bombarded with Christmas stuff...it's November people! Come on! Let us celebrate the beautiful holiday of Thanksgiving first, shall we? Eeesh! Okay I'm done ranting.

Well the fall leaves are quite pretty out here in the Hersh. I had Trey take pics of me and Luce by our tree right outside of our apartment.

Trey got all artsy with this one, I thought it turned out pretty cool.

My pretty-eyed family...Trey's definitely got that crazy look in his eye

Here is our happy little punkin family

Here they are all lit up...Trey carved the Zero skull, I carved Bubs from Homestarrunner, and Lucy carved her name with a heart next to it. Clever girl eh?
And here is the Lucinator's costume...

Cutest little owl I ever did see! We went trick-or-treating to a few of our friend's apartments here at the manor. Luce wasn't a very happy camper so we had to keep it brief. It will be fun next year when she can actually eat some of the candy she gets.

:-)

Happy 5 months little lady!
Lucy is a lover of zurberts (giving and getting them), drool, milk, the song London Bridges, kisses, being tickled, the baby in the mirror, sitting on mom's & dad's head, pulling hair, listening to her Beatles song, Pocoyo, rolling, her pink giraffe & blue birdie, going on walks, smiles, dancing, bathtime, sucking and chewing on mom's fingers, being naked, playing peek-a-boo, giggling, talking (in her native tongue), licking(not to be confused with sucking) her thumb, standing with support, getting crazy-hyper, fake coughing, and tooting! :) Oh and she has a thing for Asian people, no joke. We have 2 Asian friends here and whenever we hang out Luce always stares them down, silly girl!

Sayonara Anatomy!

Trey's Anatomy course is over, which means I have a husband again!!! Huzzah! It's so weird having him home so much, Lucy and I LOVE IT! Fall has been treating us well. The leaves are so beautiful here. What I love most about it is that it's still really green too so the contrast makes the colors really pop. Here are some pics I took the other day when I went on a walk with my friend Andrea. It was a perfect 70 degrees so I thought I better take advantage of the awesome weather.

We finally found a crib on craigslist for Luce and it's fab! I'm a big fan of craigslist out here. Most people have like one or two kids tops and then they sell all their baby stuff (that is practically new) for cheap. Garage sales here are awesome for that same reason. I was super excited to finally use her cute bedding that I heart. Here are a few pics, you can see the sweet brick walls we have in our apartment.

Lucy was being a little goof ball, I think she was super jazzed that she actually has a bed to sleep in(we had her in her pack and play). This girl is getting to be more and more crazy fun everyday, I'm loving it!

As most of you with husbands know, we're right in the thick of football season so every Saturday Lucy dresses up in this to cheer on our Penn State Nittany Lions. I found it at a thrift store for 50 cents! Can't beat that.

We really haven't been up to much lately, Anatomy has been occupying most of Trey's time the past while. And as for me, well, being a mom is what I do. Hence why there are so many pictures of Lucy. That's what I do all day, hang out with the munchkin. I wouldn't have it any other way.

With that being said, here are some more pictures of Luce being her funny little self. I seriously can't believe how big she is getting, she'll be 5 months old tomorrow!

With all that drool she's got to be popping a tooth sometime soon...right?
Aunty Klean, T-bone, and Draper: you'll be happy to know that her pink giraffe is her favorite toy these days. She loves to give her big slobbery kisses.
Grandma Robin sent her these 2 cute shirts. I'll be posting pictures soon of Lucy in her Halloween costume & our pump-a-kins we carved last night. Also we're getting some family pictures taken by a good friend out here. Hopefully we can get them done before it snows!
P.S. Thank you friends and fam for sending us those fun Halloween packages(you know who you are)! It's nice to know people haven't forgotten us.

Playtime!

My 2 favoritest humans.

This girl loves playing with her daddy. I think we might have a daddy's girl on our hands.

P.S. Aren't baby giggles the best? They melt my heart. They are my reward for a long days work. I LOVE my job. :)

Weekend Getaway

This past weekend we had a much needed night of fun, crabs, bonfire, and games. Saturday afternoon we trekked on down to Forest Hill, Maryland with a bunch of Trey's classmates to stay at the Niehoff residence (our friend Kate's parents house). We got into a minor car wreck on the way there, luckily none of us got hurt (and thank heavens for infant car seats!). It was funny that it was Kate who actually rear ended us. Our Subaru definitely won the battle. Poor Ron Burgundy (Kate's car) will need a face lift for sure.

The Niehoff's house was amazing! When we arrived they had dinner waiting for us, which entailed Maryland Blue Crab! Yay! Trey & I had never "picked crabs" before. It was quite a fun process, totally messy, but a good time for sure. My favorite part was mashing the hard outer shell with a mallet. I'm definitely a fan. The crab was super tasty...almost sweet. And they had the most delicious food to go with the crabs: chicken, burgers, corn, beans, salad, crab balls, coleslaw, and the yummiest desserts too. We ate like queens and kings.

Here we are, picking away...

They just piled the crabs up in the middle of the table and said "go to town!"

Here's the whole group, who Trey lovingly has nicknamed "The Crew". Not everyone in "the crew" was present but this is a good chunk of them.

Oh and Kate's mom was a hoot. She just loved Lucy to pieces. Here they are hangin' out while everyone was picking crabs. It was a little chilly so we had Lucy all bundled.

After dinner they made a bonfire in their backyard and everyone roasted marshies and chit chatted. Here is the Penn State Class of 2013, woot woot!

I love the random floating marshmellow in our little family picture.

We then played games and talked til the wee hours of the night. We had such a great time! Here we are eating the smorgasbord of breakfast food, including banana, blueberry, and chocolate chip pancakes! Mmm..
All of Trey's friends in his class are not married and without child so at first it was kind of weird hanging out with them because I felt a little out of place but now I feel totally comfortable around them. They all love Lucy to death. None of them are LDS (Trey is the only LDS person in his class) so it's been fun answering questions they have about the "crazy mormons", ha ha.
