32 weeks and growing...

Here are some belly pics we just took today for those who haven't seen me in awhile...yep she is most definitely growing! It's been fun comparing all my belly pics side by side to see how much I've grown throughout the pregnancy. She's definitely my little basketball in there, sticks straight out!

And here are some other fun things I've been up to. We had a Relief Society service auction 2 weeks ago for enrichment and I was asked to provide some sort of cake for dessert, since it was a R.S. birthday celebration as well. I decided to do some fun spring flower cupcakes. They were actually super easy to make. I got the idea from my friend Meagan's blog (thanks dearest!). Here is the link to the YouTube video if any of you want a quick lesson. I thought they turned out pretty cute, although don't look too close because they definitely are not perfect.
Now if only the weather would cooperate so we can start seeing REAL spring flowers...yeah...that would be nice.

Last but not least...

The medical school application season is officially finished for this young man. Interviews are all completed and I've heard back from all of my schools as of this morning. I want to do a quick summary of what has happened since we were initially accepted. I got a letter from Penn State this morning...well actually it was more of a packet...with a cover letter that says I'm accepted. Woohoo! Iowa rejected me a few weeks ago and I removed my application from consideration at Medical College of Wisconsin (I just didn't get the right vibe from the school/student body). So out of the five interviews, I was accepted to three: U of Vermont, U of Toledo, and Penn State. I am so thankful for the way things have gone this year. Not only did we get in, but we have choices. It is going to be a tough decision. Michelle and I are going to write up a pros and cons list tonight and try to hash it out. I'm grateful to all of those who have interacted with me during this whole process. Everyone has been super positive and it rubbed off onto us. THANK YOU! I don't want to name names, but you know who you are. We're so pumped with the way our life is going...baby on the way, spring is trying to come out and play, I finally have a job interview, we're going to med school, etc. Things were a little sketchy there for a while, but we had faith things would work out and they are/have. Anyway, just a little update on what is new from my perspective. Here are a few pics from our Goblin Valley/Moab trip that should also have made the cut.

Baby Projects

This is my project I did over the weekend, and it was jolly good fun!

I took some boring brown rocker/glider cushions...

...bought some cute fabric at Joanns that matched the adorable baby bedding (oh how I love living across the street from Joanns)...

...solicited some help from an expert seamstress, Traci...

...and VOILA!!!

Brand spankin' new (looking) rockin' rocker/glider!!! Woot woot!

Here is a pic of the quilt so you can see how it looks with the bedding. I am in LOVE with the bedding. The best part is that it can easily be used for a boy or a girl. I'm all for that!

This is one of my many projects I plan to undertake before the baby comes. I can't believe I only have 2 months left...which means there isn't much time! I made a list of all the fun things I want to do so hopefully that will help motivate me to actually finish all of them. I figure if I do one a week I think I'll be good. I'll keep you updated on my progress. :)
It feels good to check this one off my list. I couldn't have done it without my Traci. Thanks again dearest! Someday I will learn how to be an expert seamstress like yourself.

Our latest adventure...

We just went on an awesome adventure this past weekend. We visited fabulous diggs, such as Five Guys Burgers & Fries, IKEA, Orem, Goblin Valley, Canyon of the Little Wild Hores, Moab, and Arches National Park. I fell in love with the following things...

HIPPIE GUMBO

PISTACHIO CHIPS FROM COSTCO

CAMP FIRES

FIBER ONE FIBER BARS...well this is more of a love/hate relationship

PREGO HIKING...quite invigorating!

THE DELICATE ARCH

DAVID BOWIE

RED ROCKS

OUR SUBARU (I already loved her but that love has greatly deepened)

REESES S'MORES

THE GEARHEAD (thank you for supplying free purified water)

HOT ROD QUOTES

and last but definitely not least...

THE FRAZIERS :)

And here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip...

I'll let Trey give more details in his post if he so desires. I will say this, it was a wild adventure and I'm so glad we went! Trey and I had both never been to that part of Utah before. The scenery is unreal! I really did fall in love with it. It made us realize how much more of Utah we have yet to explore. It will be a great place to bring our kids to someday.

My friend Bella...

Meet my friend Bella Band...

She may not look like much to the eye, but as we all know appearances can be quite deceiving. To a pregnant lady, this thing is heaven sent. She is good for all the stages. She can suck you in when you've got a wee baby bump, she keeps your pants up when you can't button them up any longer, and she can support the ever growing belly. I am especially appreciative to her at this moment in time because she has saved me from having to buy maternity pants, and I'm almost 31 weeks along!. I'm going to see how much longer I can hold out. :)

All you pregnant ladies out there, please give her a chance if you haven't already. She is worth every penny! And all you ladies who plan on getting pregnant someday, please keep her in mind. I promise you won't regret it.

Tagg-ed

The rules: open the 4th photo folder on your computer, post the 4th picture, and then offer a brief explanation. Then tag 4 people to do the same.

So this is a pic of Wren from our trip to fish lake. as you can see she is in ultimate lounge position. Body nearly laid back with just head and neck upright for efficient tv watching. One hand full of goodies, while the other reaches for a precious doll. Face completely devoid of emotion or expression...a true sign of vegetation. She is relaxed, snacking, and vegging out all at once and seems to be in heaven. The trip was so awesome, and I just realized I haven't done a post about it yet. Stay tuned! I tag LoLo, Joe and Karl, Heefy, and Heatha.
