Lu birdy purse

Lucy has recently taken an interest in one of my purses.  She loves carrying it out to the car for me and keeps telling me it's her purse. I looked everywhere for a cute purse to get her for Christmas but I didn't see anything that tickled my fancy.  Then I thought, why don't I just make one?  It didn't seem too hard and it actually wasn't.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I basically used this tutorial but simplified it a bit.  I didn't use a liner fabric because the corduroy is pretty darn thick and Lucy doesn't care what the inside looks like.  I also made just one strap instead of 2 because that's more of the look I was going for.  I had the cute embroidered bird from when I cut up the window valance that went with Lucy's nursery bedding so I stuck that on there for good measure.  She was pretty excited when she woke up from her nap and found this happy little birdy bag waiting for her.  She's even put a few toys in it already.  Success!
